In the era we live in, it is not uncommon to find that our children and ourselves have more hectic schedules than ever before. Our children often have their nose riveted to their tablet or smart phone and the pleasure it gives them is even reciprocal being ourselves followers of this technology that is evolving at a breakneck pace. Instead of having to attend classroom theory classes more often than not at the end of the day, like us and our generation, the learner is looking for a learning experience. Our young people want to learn, but they find themselves overwhelmed by having to submit to traditional classroom study rather than learning the same subject directly on computer. This apprehension may seem risky, but remember that online road safety only replaces the theoretical portion of learning to drive. Driver apprentices remain obliged to attend practical driving lessons given by certified teachers holding a competency certificate issued by the responsible authorities. To date, there is no standard of federal jurisdiction for road safety.
The federal government delegates this responsibility to the provincial governments. Provincial authorities are therefore responsible for establishing a standard and regulation for driving training. In Quebec since 2010, learning to drive new learners is mandatory. This means that anyone who is 16 years old and wants to obtain a driving license must be registered in a recognized driving school and must complete the Road Safety Education Program (RSEP). Theoretical study online thus allows the student to have access to a theoretical part of the program. This new pedagogical approach allows the student to acquire the knowledge of the Highway Safety Code at his own pace and according to his availability.
The road safety education program is divided into several separate chapters. It includes such important aspects as night driving, steering wheel operation, general dashboard knowledge and more. Some chapters deal with the physical and psychological aspect of the driver, the causes of accidents, the prevention of accidents and the sharing of the road.
Nicolas from Quebec subscribed to our online academic training and has so far completed more than 50% of his education program. Here’s what he has to say: “I learned a lot about driving. Just the road signs, it’s impressive. When we know them, we can say outright that the road speaks to us! ”
Nicolas represents the new generation of drivers. He enjoys being able to learn in a comfortable environment where all the parameters come together, thus enhancing the learning experience of driving.
Students completing their online academic training receive a detailed report of their performance on the preparatory examinations of our online study program. They are able to see their shortcomings and if necessary can study certain sections in order to improve their knowledge.
In Quebec, the portion of driving courses accompanied by a certified driving instructor is mandatory. It is important to note that our theoretical training is totally independent of the practical courses and does not steal this “practical” portion behind the wheel.
The benefits of the ESR online course study
One of the major benefits is the overall cost of training. The cost of online training is considerably lower than a theoretical classroom instructor course. The mere fact of not having to pay a teacher’s salary and having to use a classroom makes weight in the equation. It is not uncommon to find that theoretical classroom courses increase the total cost of training by several hundred dollars.
Like most theoretical online courses, the study is done autonomously and you have access to it for a period more than sufficient to complete everything at your own pace. When significant changes to the Highway Safety Code are made by government authorities, there is no need to purchase a new book or reference guide.
Our system automatically applies the changes and no charge is charged to the student.
The online study is full of advantages and allows learner drivers to learn in an environment where they are comfortable and more receptive
